Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will be lighter than most competing laptops

Samsung recently confirmed that its first major in-person Galaxy Unpacked event since the COVID-19 pandemic will be held on February 1, 2023. While the Galaxy S23 series will be the star of the show, the company will also unveil the Galaxy Book 3 series laptops that day. Unsurprisingly, the leaks world has been mum about the new laptops. They never get as much attention as Samsung’s flagship smartphones. But as the launch event draws closer, we are starting to hear more about them. According to a new report, the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will be an incredibly light laptop. It will be lighter than most competing products.

Samsung is making an incredibly light laptop in the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra

Sources have told SamMobile that Samsung’s upcoming high-end laptop Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will be lighter than the Apple MacBook Pro and the Dell XPS 15. Depending on the configuration, these two laptops reportedly weigh between 1.8 and 2.0 Kg (4-4.4 pounds) and 1.92 and 2.10 Kg (4.2-4.6 pounds), respectively. That means the new Samsung laptop will start at under 1.8 Kg in terms of weight. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have a precise number to tell you.

Nonetheless, if this rumor turns out to be true, the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will be a powerful yet super portable Windows machine. We say powerful because it is the highest-specced model in Samsung’s upcoming Windows laptop lineup. In fact, it is the very first “Ultra” branded laptop from the Korean firm. And we all know it doesn’t just slap the Ultra brand on any product. The device should bring the company’s best in this area, like how the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be its best smartphone yet.

Unfortunately, Samsung has successfully kept the machine under wraps so far, so we don’t know much. It should get Intel’s latest 13th Gen processor and feature a full-sized backlit keyboard with a number pad. That’s all we know as of now. Thankfully, the official announcement is just around the corner (less than three weeks away now). We won’t have to wait much longer to see what the Korean firm is cooking for those waiting for a new Galaxy Book.

Meanwhile, if you’re planning to buy the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra — or the Book 3 Pro or Pro 360 — you can already reserve a unit. Samsung is offering a $50 credit if you reserve the new laptops now. You’ll get the same credit amount on reserving a Galaxy S23 as well. And if you reserve both, Samsung will give you a $100 credit. Stay tuned for more information about upcoming Galaxy products.
