Taking the stage of the Computex 2024, Lexar recently announced numerous storage solutions like PCIe Gen 5.0 and Gen 4.0 NVMe SSDs and RAM and flash memory. For the uninitiated, Lexar is one of the top names for flash storage solutions providers worldwide. Without further ado, let’s jump into the details.
Lexar unveils loads of storage solutions including NVMe SSDs & DDR5 RAM at Computex 2024
For the starters, Lexar announced four new internal SSDs with Lexar Professional NM1090 M.2 Gen 5.0 NVMe topping the chart. The storage capacity of the NM1090 ranges from 1TB to 4TB while it boasts 12,000MB/s and 11,000MB/s sequential read and write speeds, respectively. Undoubtedly, this makes it an ideal choice for gamers as well as power users out there. Besides, it includes an Active Fan Heatsink with cool-looking RGB lighting that keeps temperatures in check while ensuring smooth performance.
In addition, two more PCIe Gen5 SSDs have been announced. This includes the Lexar Professional NM990 NVMe SSD and the Lexar Professional NM980 NVMe SSD. The NM990 flaunts a compact form factor while offering an extreme sequential read and write performance of up to 14GB/s read and 12GB/s, respectively.
On the contrary, the NM980 is ideal for laptop users, all thanks to the low-power mode which ensures low temperature and reduced power consumption. Lexar also announced the Play 2280 Gen 4.0 NVMe SSD with Heatsink. Notably, the SSD storage offers great sequential read and write performance of up to 7400MB/s and 6500MB/s, respectively. Worth noting that this speed is almost double what PCIe Gen3 SSDs offer currently. The Play 2280 comes in different storage capacities of up to 8TB and could fit in your gaming laptops and PS5.
Next, you have the Ares RGB DDR5 RAM that flaunts a classic upgraded exterior design. And, boasts memory speeds reaching up to 7,600MT/s and 8,000MT/s. It also features a premium aluminum heat spreader to prevent overheating issues while ensuring blazing-fast performance. Not to forget, this DDR5 RAM is available with the latest Intel XMP 3.0 standard and Lexar RGB Sync which gives gamers the power to customize the RGB LED lighting.
Portable storage solutions were also showcased at the event
Apart from Dynamic RAM and NVMe SSDs, Lexar further announced portable SSD storage solutions at Computex 2024. The Lexar SL400 caters to smartphone-centric content creators. It boasts a rugged compact build and boasts one-meter drop resistance and an IP65 rating. Talking of performance, you get a maximum of 1050MB/s and 1,000MB/s read and write speeds, respectively.
Next up, there’s the Lexar PLAY PRO microSDXC Express Card which is available in different storage capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB and delivers read and write speeds of up to 900MB/s and 600MB/s, respectively. Not to forget, these speeds are achieved when the microSD card is used with an SD Express Host.
In addition, there’s the Professional SDXC Express Card, which when used with SD Express Host, offers read and write speeds of up to 1,700MB/s and 1,000MB/s, respectively. Whereas, the Professional DIAMOND CFexpress 4.0 Type B Card delivers read and write speeds of 3700MB/s and 3400MB/s. It is VPG400 rate and also supports 8K RAW 60FPS video recording.
Lexar’s ARMOR series storage solutions were on display, too
Furthermore, you have Lexar’s new rugged ARMOR GOLD SD UHS-II V60 Card that boasts an IP68 rating. It offers maximum read and write speeds of up to 280MB/s and 210MB/s, respectively. Accompanying the ARMOR GOLD Card in Lexar’s rugged series is the ARMOR 700 Portable SSD that comes with an IP66 rating. The portable SSD is compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 to deliver a superb read and write speed of 2,000MB/s.
All that said, Lexar didn’t reveal the pricing and release dates of all these storage solutions. This announcement is just another example of how storage solutions providers are keeping up with the pace of the changing tech landscape where everything is apparently getting faster.
