MSI just unveiled its X870 motherboards to complement AMD’s Ryzen 9000. Today the company also introduced the Roamii WiFi 7 mesh system at Computex 2024. According to MSI, they have designed the product to handle the increasing number of WiFi 7-supported devices and artificial intelligence-related applications. The system is powered by the Qualcomm Immersive Home platform.
MSI Roamii WiFi 7 offers seamless home connectivity
The MSI Roamii WiFi 7 mesh system offers speeds up to 21 Gbps, enhanced by features like 320 MHz channels that offer double the bandwidth. The Qualcomm Immersive Home platform also enables a number of advanced WiFi features such as 4K-QAM, Multi-RU, and MLO (Multi-Link Operation). All of these become available across a mesh system that MSI has developed to uplift the user experience related to connectivity. The system also offers a 10Gbps wired connection.
Ganesh Swaminathan, Vice President and General Manager at Qualcomm Technologies, emphasized the partnership’s focus on advancing smart home connectivity. According to him, the collaboration focuses on transforming the smart home experience with seamless, ultra-fast, connectivity and also aims to push the boundaries of home networking technology. “Qualcomm Technologies is proud to power MSI’s Roamii WiFi 7 mesh system with our Immersive Home platform, setting a high standard for home connectivity,” he said.
It also offers some parental controls
Security is one of the focus of this WiFi 7 mesh system. The Roamii WiFi 7 mesh system integrates a security component inside that offers 24/7 protection to all connected devices such as phones, laptops, and smart home appliances.
As you probably know, cyber security threats, such as data breaches and identity theft, could be done through a remote attack or infecting a local device with malware. The security component known as the MSI FortiSecu automatically scans each device connected to the network and immediately blocks a compromised one with abnormal traffic. It also alerts the owner with a push notification about the matter.
In addition to offering protection from cybersecurity threats, it also offers parental controls to provide an extra layer of security for kids with access to the internet. Parents can prevent access to inappropriate content. FortiSecu’s parental control also offers insights into the children’s online activity.
