Samsung’s Good Lock customization app comes to more countries

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus AH NS multitasking overview recents 01 good lock

Samsung is bringing its high-octane Good Lock customization app for Galaxy smartphones to more markets. The app is rolling out to Galaxy users in several new countries across Europe and Latin America. The company hasn’t officially announced this expansion yet.

Launched back in March 2016, Good Lock has existed for more than six years now. But all this while, it was only available in a handful of markets. The app debuted in Samsung’s homeland South Korea and expanded to only 14 other countries as of April last year, including Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UAE, the UK, and the US. That’s a way too limited release considering Samsung’s presence around the world.

It appears the Korean behemoth is finally changing that. According to SamMobile, Good Lock is now available to Galaxy users in Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, Thailand, and the Czech Republic. Samsung may have also launched the app in other countries across Europe and Latin America. Unfortunately, we don’t have an official list to confirm that.

Either way, this is an indication that Samsung is ready to widely release Good Lock. It’s unclear why the app had limited availability for years, but here we are. We hope the company will soon cover the remaining markets in Asia and Africa as well. It would be the cherry on the cake if Samsung also expanded support to more devices. Good Lock currently only works on flagship and premium mid-range models. If you’re using a supported Galaxy smartphone and live in one of the aforementioned countries, you should be able to download the app from the Galaxy Store (link below).

Good Lock unlocks new customization possibilities on Galaxy devices

Good Lock is a suite of customization tools for Galaxy devices. It contains several modules that let you customize all sorts of things on your phone. You can heavily customize the wallpaper, app icons, and other UI elements to change the look and feel of the user interface. You can even add new options to some existing apps, including the camera, keyboard, settings, and more. Some Good Lock features have graduated into One UI features in recent years, such as Bixby Routines.
