SEGA is rumored to be bringing five big-name games to the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, even though Nintendo itself hasn’t confirmed the Switch 2 is actually happening. Nintendo is working on a new console based on several other rumors. However, the company as of yet, hasn’t announced the hardware.

Last year, Nintendo did confirm that it would be making it possible to transfer your Nintendo account to new hardware when the time comes. But that’s about as much as Nintendo has openly said about what comes next after the Switch. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stifled conversations about what the hardware could do, or what games you’ll be to play on it. According to @MbKKssTBhz5 on X, SEGA is working on five games for the Nintendo Switch 2. This includes popular games from the Dreamcast era like Crazy Taxi.

If you’ve never played Crazy Taxi before, the goal is to increase your score by getting people to their destination. You drive around the city looking for pickups, then get those fares where they need to go. The point is to do this as fast as you can so you get the most cash and the highest possible score. The city is essentially your oyster so you can go whichever way you like. You can also receive more tip money for jumps and tricks and such. The title was incredibly popular on Dreamcast in the US, and it’s a game that would feel right at home on Nintendo hardware.

The SEGA games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 were shown at The Game Awards

If you happened to miss The Game Awards that happened back in December 2023, then you would have easily missed SEGA showcasing announcements for these games coming up. According to MbKKssTBhz5, Crazy Taxi will be joined by Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage. All of these games will either get new entries or remakes/reboots. So these will essentially be new games for the new Nintendo hardware. And not simply ports of the original releases.

That being said, there’s no mention of a possible timeframe for most. MbKKssTBhz5 does state that Jet Set Radio is rumored to come out in 2026 though. Nintendo’s new console is rumored to be released in 2024. With a planned launch window of around the holiday shopping season. Obviously, none of this has been confirmed, so it must be taken with a grain of salt. But for SEGA and Nintendo fans, it’ll likely be exciting to know these could be on the way.
