Mobvoi is ready to launch a new TicWatch Pro. The company is one of the most traditional in the Wear OS market. Their “Pro” models are the most advanced in their line, integrating the best that Mobvoi has to offer.

Mobvoi’s latest smartwatch is the TicWatch Pro 5. The company launched the device in May 2023, so the next generation should be pretty close. Now, the company is starting to tease the arrival of a new TicWatch Pro via X/Twitter. The post includes the silhouette of the next smartwatch and the phrase “A New Era Dawns. The Future Arrives in Days.”

Mobvoi will launch a new TicWatch Pro in the coming days

The teaser suggests that the next TicWatch Pro will arrive very soon. The image included in the post shows a device quite similar to the current generation, the TicWatch Pro 5. However, the bezel seems to have new details in the form of curved lines. So, it seems that Mobvoi will opt for a familiar design for this one. Still, it will probably include some hardware and software improvements.

Mobvoi’s post does not include details about the specifications of the future product. The TicWatch Pro 5 is already powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset for smartwatches. However, the new device could include more RAM and storage. Another potential improvement could be Wear OS 4, since the current generation model is still running Wear OS 3.5. That said, enrollment for the TicWatch Pro 5 Wear OS 4 beta took place in April.

Samsung reportedly testing Wear OS 5

On the other hand, X/Twitter user @MatthewReiter05 shared a screenshot of what appears to be Samsung’s latest Wear OS 5 test firmware. The new version of the OS for smartwatches may debut with the Galaxy Watch 7 series. However, the firmware test corresponds to the current Galaxy Watch 6 series. Currently, not much is known about this update. Google will give more details this month during the I/O 2024 conference.
