A souped-up OnePlus 12R is coming under a different name

AH OnePlus 12R Review (10)

OnePlus is planning to launch a souped-up OnePlus 12R, kind of. The phone will arrive, but under a different name. That has just been confirmed by a certification in China, and a tipster shared some additional info.

A souped-up OnePlus 12R seems to be on the way… under a different name

What’s going on here, exactly? Well, OnePlus will announce the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. The OnePlus Ace 3 is identical to the OnePlus 12R, but it’s made for the Chinese market. So this will basically be a version of the OnePlus 12R, kind of.

What’s new? Well, as far as we can tell, there will be only two major differences between the phones. The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

In addition to that, OnePlus aims to provide the phone with faster storage. It will include UFS 4.0 instead of UFS 3.1. Both of those changes are related to the phone’s performance and will make it more future-proof, basically, and bring it closer to the OnePlus 12.

The phone’s design will likely remain unchanged

The design of the phone will likely remain the same. The phone did appear on the 3C certification, which confirmed that the phone will support 100W wired charging. The device is also rumored to include a 6,100mAh battery.

The OnePlus Ace 3 has a 5,500mAh battery, so this would be another major change. We’re still not sure that the battery detail is accurate, however, so take that with a grain of salt.

Now, in regards to the rest of the phone’s specs, chances are that they’ll stay unchanged. We’re only guessing, though.

If you’re wondering when will this phone see the light of day, well… a tipster did share some information. Abhishek Yadav says that the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will launch either at the end of June or in July this year.
