ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF targets enthusiasts building PCs with Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake-S processors. Its LGA 1851 socket ensures compatibility with existing LGA1700 coolers, easing upgrades. But the ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF boasts more than just socket compatibility. This motherboard packs a punch with a robust VRMs design, hinting at its ability to handle overclocked CPUs with ease. Extensive heatsinks across the PCB promise efficient heat dissipation, crucial for peak performance.

The motherboard’s most intriguing feature is its “Backside Fan Technology” (BTF). This innovative design moves some key components, like audio and USB ports, to a daughterboard on the back. This frees up space on the mainboard for even larger heatsinks and potentially better airflow.

Z790 Hero CAMM2 pushes DDR5 memory to its limits

The ROG Maximus Z790 Hero CAMM2 caters to those using current-gen Intel Alder Lake CPUs. It utilizes the LGA1700 socket and features another innovative feature – CAMM (Cable Attached Memory Modules). This technology integrates memory modules directly onto the PCB with a DDR5 interface cable, potentially improving signal integrity and heat dissipation, especially during memory overclocking.

At its showcase, ASUS demonstrated the Z790 Hero CAMM2 achieving an impressive DDR5-8000 memory overclock while staying cool (under 50°C) with air cooling. This achievement showcases the board’s potential for memory enthusiasts seeking to maximize DDR5 RAM performance.

While exact release dates and pricing haven’t been revealed yet, these motherboards will surely excite PC enthusiasts. With their feature-rich designs and focus on performance, the new ROG Maximus motherboards solidify ASUS‘s position at the forefront of the PC hardware race.
