Huawei is seemingly planning to launch its third clamshell foldable smartphone this year, and its design just surfaced. The name of this phone is the Huawei Pocket 2, and this information comes from Fixed Focus Digital, a tipster from Weibo.

He shared three images of the device, each of them showing a different color of the Huawei Pocket 2. The phone is coming in Plain Black, Dark Purple, and Rococo White colors. The first one is self-explanatory, the second one has a vegan leather texture, and the third one has a marble look, despite the fact it has a glass backplate.
You can clearly see that there are two circles included on the back of this phone. Well, on the front if the device is folded. The top one is reserved for the cameras, while the bottom one packs in a small display.
Both the Huawei P50 Pocket and Pocket S had a 1.04-inch OLED display on the back. This one could follow in those exact same footsteps. Huawei seems to be sticking to these tiny cover displays, while the competition opts for much larger panels.
This could be a more budget-oriented foldable
Considering that the Huawei Pocket 2 name is used here, we don’t really know where this phone belongs. The Huawei P50 Pocket was a higher-end device, while the Pocket S was a budget foldable.
The Huawei Pocket 2 doesn’t seem to belong in either lineup. Huawei seems to be changing things up in terms of naming if this phone ends up being used. If we had to guess, though, this phone does seem closer to the Huawei Pocket S.
Huawei did not launch a single clamshell foldable last year. It did announce two book-style foldables, though. We’re not sure when will this device arrive, but it could launch alongside the Huawei P60 series. Those devices are expected in March. Huawei’s ‘Pocket’ phones usually arrive later in the year, though.
