Samsung seems to be in a hurry to complete its One UI 6.1 rollout. After expanding the update to Europe, the company is rapidly bringing it to the US. It recently released the update for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series stateside. The US versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are also picking up One UI 6.1.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 get One UI 6.1 in the US

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 started getting the Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update in early May. Like most other devices, Samsung began the rollout in its homeland South Korea. It brought the update to Europe yesterday and quickly expanded it to the US. One UI 6.1 is widely rolling out to both carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the foldable duo stateside.

For Galaxy Z Fold 4 users, the update brings the firmware build number F936USQU4FXE3 (locked) or F936U1UEU4FXE3 (unlocked). It is F721USQU4FXE3 for the locked Galaxy Z Flip 4. The devices are getting huge OTA (over the air) packages weighing multiple gigabytes (GBs). After all, they are picking up several AI features and other improvements from the Galaxy S24 series.

These include Circle to Search, Live Translate, Chat Assist, Interpreter, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Browsing Assist, Generative Edit, Generative Wallpaper, enhanced battery protection, and more. It is a massive update for the foldable duo. Samsung has kept a few AI features exclusive to its latest flagship but pushed most of those to older devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Interestingly, the Korean firm didn’t bundle the May security patch with the One UI 6.1 update for these foldables. They remain on the April patch. Samsung has already released the latest security update for the Galaxy S24 series. The company may roll it out to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 with a separate update in the coming weeks. We will let you know when it arrives.

Samsung’s 2021 foldables will soon get this update

One UI 6.1 will soon roll out to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the US. The 2021 foldables have already received the update in South Korea and Europe. A global rollout might be just around the corner. Samsung will also soon start pushing the May security patch to more eligible devices worldwide. This month’s security update patches 55 vulnerabilities, at least three of which are critical issues.
