Sony hosted a press event in Japan today, and during it, the company announced two new smartphones. The Sony Xperia 1 VI was announced as the company’s new flagship, we’ve already covered that launch. Sony also announced the Xperia 10 VI, though, its new mid-ranger.

The Sony Xperia 10 VI also has flat sides, just like its more expensive counterpart

The Xperia 10 VI also has a flat frame all around, and flat front and bottom parts. There are two cameras on the back, not three as on the Xperia 1 VI. The phone also doesn’t have a display camera hole or anything of the sort. Sony opted for thicker top and bottom bezels instead.

The device includes a 6.1-inch fullHD+ (2520 x 1080) OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. The display aspect rate here is 21:9, so it remains unchanged. That’s a bit weird as the Xperia 1 VI now has a 19.5:9 display aspect ratio. This panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus, by the way.

Sony opted for the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 here, and a dual camera setup

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor fuels this smartphone. Sony also included 8GB of RAM here, along with 128GB of storage. That storage is expandable, by the way, via a microSD card.

A 48-megapixel main camera (26mm lens, 1/2-inch sensor, optical zoom 26mm and 52mm focal length) is included on the back, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera (16mm lens). An 8-megapixel selfie camera is also a part of the package.

The company also included a set of stereo speakers here. An audio jack is also included on the phone, and the device comes with LDAC support too.

The company says this is a two-day phone, in terms of battery life

A 5,000mAh battery sits on the inside, and the company says you can get 2-day battery life out of this phone. Xperia Adaptive Charging is supported, as is “fast charging”. We still don’t know how fast it is, though. Android 14 comes pre-installed.

This handset comes with IP65/IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The Sony Xperia 10 VI comes in Black, White, and Blue colors. The phone measures 155 x 68 x 8.3mm, and weighs 164 grams. So it’s a bit heavier than its predecessor.

The Sony Xperia 10 VI will go on sale for €399 in Europe, and the phone will become available from mid-June.
