Right now Amazon has an amazing deal on one of my favorite NVMe SSDs, the Samsung 980 Pro. This deal is for the 1TB model of the SSD which would normally retail for around $165. Amazon currently has it listed for $90 though. That is nearly half off as it’s a 45% discount. So this is definitely a steal. This SSD also comes with the heatsink so you can use it with your PS5 if you don’t already have an SSD in there.
I used this exact SSD in my PS5 for extra storage for close to a year before I upgraded to something with more space, and I loved it. It loads games super fast and it definitely felt like installs were sped up as well. And because it has a heatsink it has better thermal protection which is what’s recommended if you’re using this in a PS5. The heatsink isn’t necessary for PC use, but it most certainly is not a bad thing that it’s there because that’s just extra protection for you.
Worth noting is that this is a PCIe Gen 4 SSD. So if you want to take advantage of the PCIe Gen 4 benefits, you’ll need a motherboard that can support PCIe Gen4. The SSD is backward compatible too though, so you can still use it with a PCIe Gen3 motherboard, just without the faster speeds. In addition to the 1TB model, Amazon also has the 2TB model on sale for $150. Just in case 1TB wasn’t enough storage space for you.
Again if you’re looking for an NVMe SSD that won’t break the bank, this is a steal. However, this is another limited-time deal. So if you need or want to upgrade an SSD in your PC or PS5, grab this at the lower price while you can.
